I grew up in the small town of Clemson, South
Carolina where my father, James, managed the local Holiday Inn and my mother,
Chrystelle, was a successful Realtor. Having both parents in the service
business in such a tight-knit community laid the foundation for the personal
service that I extend to my clients today. My values of integrity, hard work,
and respect are a natural outgrowth of that small town experience.
Over the last twenty years I have followed
my passions for education and the development of business and
investment opportunities that benefit both me and my clients. I have
generated a wealth of experiences that include an
undergraduate degree in Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard
University and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the
California Institute of Integral Studies. I have been involved with
real estate and finance for the last seventeen years in the areas of
construction (I built homes out of college), finance (I was an
equity options portfolio manager), and sales.
"I
see real estate transacting as a life transition where people invest
their savings and
emotions; a place where people deserve to be listened to, cared for,
and honored, as well as
receiving the highest return on their investment."
I endeavor to partner with my clients in a no-nonsense approach
to real estate that is grounded in honest, accurate information and
service focused on each client’s specialized needs. I see real
estate transacting as a life transition where people invest their
savings and emotions; a place where people deserve to be listened
to, cared for, and honored, as well as receiving the highest
return on their investment. In short, I believe buying or selling real estate
is an undertaking where every person should achieve their best
possible outcome, both financially and emotionally.
I am also committed to making the world a better place by being
involved in my local and professional communities. Professionally, I
serve at the Oakland Association of Realtors as Treasurer of the Board of
Directors and President of the Multiple Listing Service Board of
Directors. I am also a Director with the California Association of
Realtors serving on their MLS and Technology committee. Locally, I
am honored to sit on the Board of Directors of the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club which supports the care
and development of two of Oakland’s treasures, Lake Merritt and Children’s Fairyland.
My wife, Jennifer
Lieberman, is a native of St. Louis,
Missouri. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, the California
Institute of Integral Studies, and is a
Marriage and Family Therapist in Oakland and San Francisco. On
December 18, 2005 we welcomed our son, Elijah, into our family!
